Microsoft has issued an official statement to the FTC regarding the company’s opposition to Activision Blizzard. For the better part of 2022, Microsoft fought an uphill battle to buy Activision Blizzard. It was not easy to find.

A few months after Microsoft announced its agreement to buy Activision Blizzard for nearly $69 billion ($68.7 billion to be exact), the FTC filed a lawsuit to block the deal. The FTC’s statement is based on concerns about Microsoft’s ability to suppress competitors in the gaming industry with a focus on the Call Of Duty franchise. Knowing if the deal goes through, Microsoft could block Call Of Duty from being available outside of its Xbox and PC networks.
