As part of our look at the games of 2022, GamesHub asked a few people from the gaming industry to share their favorite games and industry moments from the past year. Sanatana Mishra from Brisbane-based studio Witch Beam (Unpacking, Assault Android Cactus) wanted to share some of his.
Mishra is working on the next title from Witch Beam, a musical puzzle game called Tempo. Tempo It had a strong debut at PAX Aus 2022, where it was selected as one of the Indie Showcase Winners. In our first experience of Tempo, we said it was full of charm and punch. The game is aiming for a 2023 release.

Cursed in Golf
An unexpected feat! Looks like someone is taking the ‘Find the fun’ strategy to the limit. Yes, it has its share of powerups and is a roguelike but at its core, this game is all about angle and power selection – in a way that makes you happy from your first hit to purgatory, until your ascension to heaven.
God of War Ragnarok
In recent years it has been thought that Sony’s front-end studios have developed a format for ‘AAA’ gaming but with RagnarökI was able to appreciate how this approach allowed them to tell important stories while keeping a wide audience in mind.
It’s like good directors don’t break the usual rules of cinema, but challenge them to do new and interesting things.
ElecHead
It wasn’t released until 2022, but in the last ten years I haven’t played, thought about, or shared a game like ElecHead.
It involves a ‘less is more’ strategy that is so important that I started to rethink my own strategies. It gives you great satisfaction without the chances of responsibility or fatigue that comes from plowing through most of the games you want to install.
