Why I sold my 2010 Ford Figo after 1.84L km | Daily News Byte

It’s one of the best hatch backs ever made and it’s no wonder there are quite a few old generation Figo’s still on the road

BHPian raju2512 recently shared it with other enthusiasts.

After 12 wonderful years and 1,84,000 km, I parted ways with my 2010 Ford Figo petrol Zxi.

The car was problem free until about a year, when many issues started to appear, First was the AC compressor failure, then the bearing change, gear shift lever cable (took 15 days to get the correct spare), AC water leakage in the cabin and finally an oil leak from the engine which resulted in a major engine overhaul (took 5 weeks to get the car back).

Until then, I spent quite a bit on this wonderful car. First tire change at 65K, next at 135K and then the front tires at 175K. All parts are stock and no major overhaul to date.

The well-calibrated HPS, excellent ergonomics and driving comfort made it a pleasure to drive despite the slightly underpowered but eager duratec 1.2l petrol engine.

Best in class AC, awesome music system, electrically adjustable OVRMs, RVMs with antiglare features, theater style dimming cabin lamps were all VFM features that most cars of the time didn’t have.

Sadly after making such wonderful cars like the Figo and Eco Sport, Ford had to shut down its operations in India.
