Rostislav Prokop’s new render reimagines the 1978 Bronco and it can only make the General Motors team nervous.

The Ford The Bronco is one of the most iconic classic cars ever made. The original model gained popularity for its accessibility and wearability for other reasons. From their inception, they were capable offroad machines with a rugged design. With the recent relaunch of the model, Ford has already delivered some incredible versions such as the Outer Banks package and the high-performance Raptor. While the new Bronco performs well, some still miss the classic looks of the older models.

Fortunately, in an exclusive render for HotCars, Rostislav Prokop has reimagined a classic 1978 Bronco as a modern truck. This two-door truck looks right at home in the badlands where it’s pictured and will be a hit within the United States. Read on for how the car pays homage to the original with just enough of a modern Ford look.

Prokop said his main inspiration for the rendering came from Ford’s latest Raptor lineup, (F-150 and Bronco). It seems that much of the front grille and wheels are directly inspired from this line.

The restomod style for the render still carries an old school feel. The headlight shape looks more like the 1978 Bronco than the new version. Prokop strikes a great balance of old and new.

Another important aspect of this render is how boxy Prokop keeps the car. While the new Bronco is still a boxy car, it can’t compete with the original when it comes to right angles. There are also new black trim pieces and a large skim plate adorning the underside of the car. They can be used for off-road use where this Bronco will excel.

A Fit Heart For A Bucking Bronco

If this render hits the production line, it’s going to need a peppy engine to take it down the backwoods trails. This restomod may have the base Bronco’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that makes 275 horsepower, but it’s not a good fit for a truck like this.

A coyote 5.0-liter V8 from the Mustang GT that makes around 480 horsepower will give this truck more grunt. For a top-of-the-line performance model, this 1978 Bronco render could borrow the F-150 Raptor R’s 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. That will boost it and make it one of the fastest trucks around. A modern Bronco like this is sure to make GM sweat a little.

Although unlikely, a classic-looking Bronco like these paired with a modern Ford V8 is something most car enthusiasts can get behind.
