The Nintendo Switch will have a great year in 2022, and it won’t slow down in the future. The last 12 months have given us Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Pokemon Arceus and Scarlet/Violet, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and more.
Nintendo is playing its cards close to the vest for 2023, but we have already seen some games on the platform. Those include The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the long-awaited Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Engage and (hopefully!) Advance Wars. Looking ahead, there are games like Metroid Prime 4 and Pikmin 4, which do not have set release dates.
The Switch is starting to enter the usual twilight years of the console, since 2023 will be the sixth year on the market. There have been persistent rumors that Nintendo is planning a new “Pro” edition to help it keep up with more powerful competitors, but so far that hasn’t materialized. Currently, there is no indication from Nintendo that a new model is on the horizon, or that the company is preparing a replacement.
