Jaylan Ford and Xavier Worthy was asked if they plan to return to Texas during their Alamo Bowl media presence. Both said they are focused on the task at hand, beating the Washington Huskies.

Taking the statements at face value, the same players are doing what they do every game week. While some will read more into what each player has said, there’s not much more to infer.

Ford and Worthy could be the best returning players on either side of the football should they return. Certainly, the Texas coaches are hoping for their return. However, they will both announce their plans for next season on their own timeline, as they should.

Worthy has one year left before becoming eligible for the draft. Ford will have the option to enter the NFL Draft at Forty Acres for three seasons.

The truth is, there’s a strong chance that each player will return and make a big impact for Texas in 2023.
