Apparently, there will be no Galaxy A74 in 2023
Samsung Galaxy A series bridges the gap in its portfolio between its budget lineup and premium phones, offering mid-range options. The Galaxy A53 is a great choice to hold a great balance, and it can hold its own against the Pixel 6a. But if new reports are to be believed, Samsung has decided to shake up its Galaxy A series, and may go without the Galaxy A7x mid-range model altogether in 2023.
Samsung didn’t like this year’s Galaxy A73 much, considering it didn’t make it to the US, unlike its predecessor. In the markets where it launched, Samsung sold it close to the Galaxy S21 FE, which may have ended up encouraging consumers to go for that, better model, closer in line with the flags. This overlap in the mid-range offerings of Samsung is visible, and now it sounds like the company has decided to do something about it.
A new report by Galaxy Club shows the case that the Galaxy A73 will not be followed next year, pointing to the lack of evidence for the development of the model (via GSMArena). While other upcoming models such as the Galaxy A54 have been spotted at times, the leak about the Galaxy A74 has not been revealed through the usual channels such as firmware leaks. or the first attempt. It can feel like it doesn’t have a handset, although Samsung may be holding this very close to the vest.
The Galaxy A54 is expected to be the biggest Galaxy A-series phone in 2023, both in the US and globally. In a recent leak, we got a good look at the phone through CAD-based renders, which show a design borrowed directly from the high-end Galaxy S23 line.
Samsung is slated to kill off the Galaxy S22 FE earlier this year as it shifts its chip portfolio to the Galaxy S22 Ultra to maintain its premium lineup. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be another Fan Edition feature. To finish what was left by the Galaxy A74, it is reported that Samsung will release the Galaxy S23 FE sometime in 2023 – unless something changes at the last minute.
