Whether you’re the type to consider skydiving a bit mundane or bungee-jumping a compelling leisure activity on the same level as watching paint dry, the speed freaks at Hennessey have dreamed up an absolutely insane off-road truck just for you.

Named “Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000” – that’s the company’s capitalization, not ours – this planned engineering and development program required the company’s in-house speed team to replace the stock blower with a massive 3.8L supercharger, which increased large departure from the factory unit, with a small 2.65L of displacement. This brawny power-adder will be complemented by new high-flow induction, larger fuel injectors that will potentially deliver more fire horse power, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt.

When the final calibrations are complete, a process that will certainly involve the use of Paul Bunyan’s ax and Thor’s hammers, the result is expected to be a 40-percent increase in output. This means the thing is expected to boast nearly 1,000 horsepower and more than 850 lb-ft of torque. Fix it, partner.

Hennessey claims to have built thousands of its EcoBoost-powered VelociRaptors for customers around the world. “The VelociRaptoR 1000 significantly raises the performance bar in terms of sheer power,” said John Hennessey, company founder and CEO.

“Add the characteristic supercharger whine and the unique exhaust note from the unique cross-plane V8, and the package is unmatched.” The man has a point. While the standard six-pot Raptor is no slouch, there’s just something very intoxicating about the eight-cylinder’s ripsaw roar.

The new Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 is set to debut in the first quarter of 2023. Customers can order now at authorized Ford retailers, or directly from Hennessey.
