It’s one of the fastest ways to drive through the desert, but for some, the 700-horsepower in the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R just isn’t enough. Some people just want to see their truck eclipse the four-digit mark when it’s on the dyno rollers. For those folks, Hennessey is building a new level of performance with the 2023 Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 that promises 1,000-hp output from a modified Ford Raptor.

Hennessey says they can do this thanks to their previous work on another vehicle that Ford put their Predator 5.2 liter supercharged V-8 in—the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Their work on the Hennessey Venom 1200 resulted in a car that made over 1,200 hp when all was said and done. The VelociRaptoR 1000’s goal is 200-hp less, but it’s still ambitious for an off-road pickup.

That’s not all the VelociRaptoR 1000 will do. To further differentiate it from the standard Raptor R, the Hennessey modified truck gets VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers, a front LED light bar, and 20-inch Hennessey wheels with 37- inch tires built to traverse all the off-road terrain you can throw at it. Hennessey didn’t mention what tires it will use specifically, but images point to a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires but that could change by the time it reaches production.

Production of the 2023 Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 will begin in 2023 with pricing to be announced closer to its production date.
