‘Nobody heard me!’ Helen Mirren has revealed that working with Harrison Ford again was ‘very different’ as she was ‘caught up’ with the ‘huge’ star

Helen Mirren has revealed that her working relationship with Harrison Ford is ‘very different’ now that she has ‘caught up with him’ in the acting world.

The actress, 77, starred alongside the Indiana Jones star, 80, in the Paramount+ Western drama, 1923, which was a prequel to the smash-hit show, Yellowstone.

When their paths crossed during The Mosquito Coast in 1986, Helen recalled being a ‘huge movie star’ while she was a little-known theater performer.

What a pair! Helen Mirren has revealed that her working relationship with Harrison Ford is ‘very different’ now that she has ‘caught up with him’ in the acting world (pictured this month)

She told The Times: ‘The relationship was obviously very, very different then because Harrison was a huge film star and I was a theater actor outside London and nobody had heard of me.

‘Now, our relationship is very different because I’ve caught him a bit. Well, I’ll never catch up to him completely but I’m a little closer than before.’

Revealing Harrison today is ‘quite different’ from his 80s co-star, he added: ‘He’s got the carapace that’s important for people who reach the level of stardom. It’s so full-on, you have to build some kind of defensive armor. He was always lovable to children; old, not so much.’

Academy Award-winner Helen plays Cara Dutton, the wife of Jacob Dutton, portrayed by Harrison.

Throwback: Crossing paths back then on The Mosquito Coast in 1986, Helen recalls their time on set where she was a 'huge movie star' and he was a well-known theater actor.

A reported 7.4 million viewers watched the premiere episode of season five, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The installment — which featured Cara Dutton killing a trespasser and more — had four broadcast cable airings, three on the Paramount Network and one on CMT.

Paramount says the 1923 premiere delivered the biggest cable premiere of 2022, though final numbers for Sunday telecasts will come in from Nielsen on Tuesday.

“Anchored by the incredible vision of Taylor Sheridan and the performances of legends Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, we feel confident that the next chapter of the Dutton Family origin story will resonate with audiences,” said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer at Paramount Streaming.

‘We are thrilled with the record-breaking early response to the first episode and can’t wait to introduce more audiences to this incredible journey of perseverance, heartbreak and adventure amid the backdrop of the Mountain West,’ he added.

Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios added, ‘The Yellowstone universe continues to break records, with our latest chapter, 1923 marking the most-watched premiere ever on Paramount+ and debuting as the #1 new cable premiere of the year on linear.’

‘Taylor Sheridan continues to tap into the cultural nerve that has proven irresistible to audiences from across the country and around the world, with this latest installment showing no signs of slowing down — once again proving the power of our approach to franchise to fuel the future of Paramount+,’ he added.
