As for why Ford decided to join the MCU, the answer he gave was, frankly, classic Harrison Ford.

Harrison Ford will debut as Thunderbolt Ross Captain America: New World Orderand then he would come back a few months later for Thunders. It’s clear that Ford entering the MCU is a major draw for the franchise, and here’s the simple answer the actor gave to The Playlist’s Yellowstones podcast when he was asked why he decided to work with Marvel Studios:
