Ford Motor Company is recalling 18,808 model year 2017-2018 Super Duty F-250s, F-350s and F-450 4x4s.
A radial damper inside the driveshaft can move out of position over time, which can cause a driveshaft imbalance and result in a fracture and cause a loss of drive power.
Additionally, a vehicle may roll while parked if the parking brake is not engaged.
Any of these can increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Dealers will replace the driveshaft, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be sent by January 9, 2023.
Owners can contact Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332. The Ford number for this recall is 22S74.
