The UK dangles £28,000 a year to Nigerian teachers

Nigerian teachers immigrating to the United Kingdom from February 2023 will attract a minimum annual remuneration of £28,000.

According to data obtained from the United Kingdom government website www.gov.uk, which provides guidance to non-UK nationals who wish to teach in the UK but have qualifications outside a European country, it was noted that salary remuneration will depend on qualification and region in which A teacher is applying to teach.

Breaking down the salary scale by position, the UK said teachers in England excluding London would earn a minimum of £28,000 and a maximum of £38,810; For inner London, beneficiary teachers will receive a minimum salary of £34,502 and a maximum salary of £44,756.

Speaking further, UK said, “If you can excel against all teacher standards, you can be placed in the higher salary range for teachers. This is for teachers who make a consistent and significant contribution to their school.”
