The Premier League club is donating the front of the team shirt for the remainder of the season to a charity supporting families fleeing conflict.

Nottingham Forest Football Club is proud to announce a new international charity partnership with the UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support relief efforts for people fleeing conflict and persecution around the world.

From the start of 2023 and for the rest of the season, both the Nottingham Forest men’s and women’s teams will take part in all fixtures with the UK logo for UNHCR on the front of their shirts, as a sign of solidarity for the families. Forced to flee their homes and communities.

The club has also made financial donations to support international relief efforts and will use all of its available commercial and marketing channels to support UNHCR’s humanitarian work, such as the delivery of emergency shelter, medical aid, water and sanitation to families when forced out. Their homes through conflict and persecution.

Supporting charitable causes has always been a key component of the club and Nottingham Forest Trust’s work, which already includes a range of programs to support the Nottingham community in areas such as mental health, suicide prevention, tackling loneliness, inclusive football and promoting youth careers. base

As a Premier League club with a growing global profile, Nottingham Forest now joins other international teams in supporting global human rights, choosing the UK for UNHCR as its international charity partner. This follows a year in which the Nottingham community, like much of the UK, has shown solidarity and compassion for families fleeing the devastating war in Ukraine.

Announcing the new partnership, Nottingham Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, said: “We are delighted that for the rest of the season we will be using the front of the iconic Nottingham Forest shirt to tell such an important story. It would be an honor to feature his name on our shirts in support of this important cause.

“I am proud to have previously partnered with the United Nations Global Work with Olympiacos FC in 2013. We supported UNICEF for four years, choosing to make a significant financial contribution to their charitable work rather than taking income from a sponsor, and giving importance to their cause on the front and then the back of the Olympiakos shirt.

“I hope Nottingham Forest fans will also be proud that we have chosen to highlight the work of UNHCR for the rest of the season in addition to local causes supporting our community trust. This comes at a time when the world is facing enormous challenges to help society’s most vulnerable.

Charlotte Boyle, UK chair for UNHCR, added: “From fighting racism and homophobia to standing with refugees, football clubs around the world are using their power to tackle discrimination and help people in need. We are very grateful for the generosity and compassion of Nottingham Forest and UNHCR’s relief efforts in supporting refugees around the world. Through this solidarity, Nottingham Forest is sending a powerful message to families fleeing conflict that they will not be forgotten.

Nottingham Forest will launch their partnership with the UK for UNHCR in 2023 with their opening Premier League home match against Chelsea on Sunday 1 January, with the men’s team stepping out for the first time with the charity on the front of the shirt. The women’s team will be playing with our new shirt partner when the FA Women’s National League North season resumes in the new year.

Nottingham Forest joins FC Barcelona to support refugees through UNHCR’s relief efforts. The Spanish club announced a partnership with UNHCR in March this year for relief funds for displaced communities in countries such as Colombia and Uganda, as well as other support such as sports equipment.

Details of how supporters can get the UK to apply the UNHCR logo to their shirts will be announced in due course.
