Ransomware attack on AIIMS

In October, Tata Power, one of the country’s largest energy suppliers serving 12 million people, said its IT systems had been hit by a cyber attack. The company said at the time that it had taken measures to “pull and restore” the system. Although the company did not share any specific details about the impact, it ensured that all important operating systems were working.

Later, the Russian-linked Hive ransomware gang claimed responsibility for the attack on Tata Power and leaked employee data it stole during the attack. The stolen information, posted on Hive’s Dark Web site, includes Aadhaar card numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, tax account details, and salary information.
