Quickly jump to your favorite parts of the app
With Google’s Material You redesign, many of the company’s own apps (as well as some third-party apps) started keeping their widgets a little smaller. Some have entered widgets for the first time. And why not? After all, they can make programs fast and easy to use. In addition, thanks to the capabilities of the new Android system, they can look good while they are sitting. YouTube is among those who go with widgets and everyone can get in on the action.
We’ve known since last month that YouTube is testing some new home screen tools – if you plan to watch videos through a dedicated feature from your home screen, you’ll need the picture-in-picture for that. But these widgets are just shortcuts to access some important parts of the app without opening it first.
We have two widgets – one is a search box, and the other adds a row of four quick actions below the mentioned search box. It seems that the search box for your work is still closed.
The quick button bar shows the shorts in Shorts (because you’re real he concerns about how TikTok works with your data), your subscription, your library (which includes your favorite videos and other playlists), and your home page.
The widget has changed a bit since we last saw the loss of the microphone button, so there is no voice search.
9to5Google reports that Pixel owners have seen new features with YouTube version 17.46.37 (via APK Mirror), although some updates have been released since that release. We have devices that feature a quick action widget with three buttons (that’s reducing the archive link), so it seems that many of us will have some tweaks to look forward to. when they actually go.
