Move your music from your headphones to your living room TV with ease

It’s easy to manage your music playback from a single media player in the media player. While Android 12 allowed you to easily switch between your phone’s audio and connected Bluetooth headphones, Android 13’s fast audio switcher added additional capabilities. With a recent update of YouTube and YouTube Music, you can easily move your media to a player from the output switch shortcut.

It has been a long-standing demand of Android users to have an easy way to switch between their Google Cast connections and screens when playing media. The feature was expected to arrive with Android 11, but it finally landed with this year’s Android 13 update. However, there are programs that add additional cast options to the output converter. even if some programs have supported it for some timeGoogle’s own streaming apps are one of the first major services to add the minimalistic feature.

A handful of users are starting to see their playlists change when playing media from YouTube and YouTube Music (via Esper’s Mishaal Rahman). As you can see in the screenshots shared by these users, your compatible TV, Nest Hub screens, and Home speakers will appear in the list next to your headphones Bluetooth and speakers.

Rahman saw the feature for the first time in October and gave us a brief demo of how it works. In the video below, you can see that it is easy and simple to jump between your media, even if you don’t have to open the media app. You can change the volume of your connected smart speaker from the same window.

It should be noted that Stream Expansion, which allows you to cast multiple programs from the output converter, is not part of the current rollout. You don’t need a Pixel phone to get this feature – any high-end Android handset running the latest Android 13 will do the trick. Some Samsung Galaxy S22 owners have noticed the option, including some Pixel users. However, the scrolling on the server side seems slow and slow, although we are seeing these new casting options on our own devices.

To check if you have the latest converter, play something on YouTube or YouTube Music and exit the app. From the media player of Android 13 in the notification shade, open the switch. You should find your local casters here. If you don’t, you will have to wait a long time until your phone arrives.
