Upcoming Ford electric SUV officially teased: Will be built on India-bound Volkswagen ID.4 platform

Ford has released a new teaser of its upcoming electric SUV, which will be based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. This is the same platform that underpins the Volkswagen ID.4 The EV, which was recently spotted testing on Indian roads, hints at a possible launch in the country in the coming years.
Martin Sander, General Manager at Ford Europe recently teased the car by literally removing the covers, not completely but enough to reveal its light blue paint scheme, sporty front bumper with faux skid plate as well as its slightly chunky headlamp. and L-shaped LED DRLs. “Can’t wait for 2023 to come, when we will pull the lid on our first electric passenger car coming from Cologne”, says Sander.

As mentioned earlier, the Ford e-SUV will be based on Volkswagen’s modular Electric drive matrix (MEB) platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles. That said, the VW EV is equipped with two electric motors in the top-end GTX version, which puts out a combined 299 PS of maximum power with an all-wheel drive configuration. It gets a 77 kWh battery pack that gives a 496 km range on a single full charge.
