The Downriver League recently released its list of all-league honorees for the 2022 volleyball season.
In third place in this year’s final league standings is Edsel Ford. The Thunderbirds have a 6-4 record in league action and have played in the top bracket of the position round.
Edsel had two players earn all-league honors for the season with senior Breanna Diktarewicz and junior Ava Steinhebel. Overall, the Thunderbirds tied with Allen Park for the second most honorees while Woodhaven led the way with three.
Woodhaven captured its second straight league championship and posted a perfect 10-0 record against league opponents for the second straight year. Alaina Craig, Julia Downey and Brooke Hart were selected from the Warriors for all-league.
Allen Park finished second in the final league standings, with an 8-2 record, and the squad had two players named all-league for the year. The Jaguars recognized the senior duo of Alana Hardin and Emma Ramey.
Placing fourth in the league standings was Trenton, which posted a 6-4 record against DRL opponents and finished atop the middle bracket of the position round. For the Trojans, all-league honors went to junior Molly Edmunds.
Wyandotte Roosevelt took fifth place this season and finished with a 5-5 record against DRL opponents. The Bears’ all-league selection for 2022 is junior Hannah Havilcsek.
Gibraltar Carlson went 4-6 in league play and finished the 2022 campaign in sixth place in the DRL standings. The Marauders’ all-league for 2022 is freshman Emma Ferguson.
Taylor High finished in seventh place in the league, with a 4-6 record, and it topped the third bracket in the position round. Senior Alyssa Williamson earned all-league honors for the Griffins.
Southgate Anderson and Lincoln Park tied for eighth place in the DRL, each finishing with a 1-9 record against league opponents.
Anderson’s all-league selection for this year was senior Megan Peavler and selected from the Railsplitters was junior Treasure Ross.
