The statement said on December 18 that Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDD) , providing electricity to consumers of North Delhi, will hold a “Lok Adalat” meeting on December 18.
Lok Adalat will deal with cases that are pending in any court or have not yet been sued. Consumers who want to resolve their energy theft case can attend in person or through an authorized representative with an authorization letter, photo ID, and a copy of their theft report.
In case of default, the company will be forced to take criminal action against these consumers under the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003. Consumers can pay their bills through various forms such as demand draft, cheque, credit card, debit card,. Online form or cash, it added.
The special court, organized in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Agency (DSLSA), will conduct From 10 am to 4 pm. The meeting will be held at the permanent Lok Adalat at Mata Sundari Lane and EAC office of Tata Power -DDL in Rohini’s Sector-3 in both physical and virtual mode.
Tata Power-DDL said that it has been working regularly to raise public awareness about the consequences of electricity theft and the criminal impact on consumers and the importance of paying bills on time.
