Ford’s next-gen Ranger is officially on sale in South Africa, showing a long list of prices for 13 different derivatives at its launch on 5 December 2022.
For now, the bakkie is only available as a double cab, with single-cab variants expected to go on sale early next year alongside the launch of the new hybrid-model Raptor.

The first Ranger customers are expected to take possession of their new vehicles before the end of the year, and more than 4,000 pre-orders have already been recorded, Ford said.

The Next-Gen Ranger line-up of Double Cab models consists of three powertrain options, manual and automatic transmissions and the choice of two or four-wheel drive systems, Ford said.
Both base models are powered by a 125kW 2.0L Single Turbo engine, with the option of 4×2 or 4×4 – both featuring a newly developed six-speed manual gearbox. The manufacturer added that the XL series includes four derivatives, all powered by the 125kW 2.0L SiT engine, and available in either 4×2 or 4×4, with the option of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. .
In the higher specification XLT series, there are four Double Cab models. Customers have the option of a 125kW 2.0L Single Turbo engine and six-speed automatic or the 154kW 2.0L Bi-Turbo with a 10-speed automatic transmission – available in both 4×2 and 4×4, Ford says.
Two Wildtrak Double Cab models are available with the 2.0L Bi-Turbo engine, 10-speed automatic, with a choice of two or four-wheel drive. At the top of the range is the new 184kW 3.0L V6 Diesel, equipped with a permanent all-wheel drive system and 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford also noted that each model in the Ford line-up will allow customers to express their uniqueness by accessorizing their vehicles with a growing list of more than 200 factory-backed adventures, urban and commercial accessories.
