Saying that the government is committed to putting in place new infrastructural services to bring good tourists to the state, Tourism Minister Rohan Kante on Sunday said that the next six months will be crucial for the state on the tourism front.
He, however, sounded optimistic that the upcoming season would be really good for tourism in Goa.
Interacting with the media on the sidelines of the launch of Al Zargham Family Restaurant at Reliance Trade Center in Margao on Sunday, the tourism minister said he was optimistic about the arrival of domestic and international tourists in Goa. In addition, he said that Goa will get nautical tourism, with around 60 cruise ships coming to the state.
“These six months are very crucial for tourism in Goa. After these six months, I am optimistic that the upcoming season will be good. The post-Covid scenario has changed the department. “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has provided maximum opportunities to improve tourism services and to set up new infrastructure to reach good tourists in the state,” he said.
He added, “With the help of the Tourism Board and the involvement of the industry, the state will witness a good season on the tourism front.”
Meanwhile, the tourism minister said that Goa is perceived as the food capital of India. He said that the opening of a new family restaurant in Margao will provide an opportunity for both locals and tourists to try the cuisine of various countries, in addition to Goan cuisine.
Tourism Minister inaugurated Al Zargham Restaurant in the presence of BJP MLA Ulhas Tuemkar, former Di. CMs Manohar Ajgaonkar and Chandrakant Kavlekar, former MLAs Clafacio Dias and Wilfred D’Sa, Municipal President Margao Damu Shirodkar, Deputy Deepali Saval, councilors and citizens.
