Ford has added a new high-spec Vivid Ruby Edition trim level to its Puma range, which sits below the performance-focused ST model in the small SUV lineup. It’s available to pre-order now from £29,770.
Like the rest of the Puma range (hot ST versions), the Vivid Ruby Edition has a mild-hybrid, 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with either 123bhp or 153bhp. The cheapest Vivid Ruby Edition gets a six-speed manual, but there’s also a seven-speed automatic from £31,570. The more powerful version starts at £32,300.
As Puma’s top spec non-ST model, the Vivid Ruby Edition is well equipped. As the name suggests, it only has ‘Vivid Ruby’ metallic paint and has a contrasting black roof, black door mirrors and rear spoiler. There are 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black, LED headlights, a powered tailgate, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view parking camera as standard.
While it sits above the ST-Line Vignale, the Vivid Ruby Edition also gets ST-Line exterior styling and a custom grille. Sport suspension is also standard, as are tinted rear windows. The interior receives heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad and white and ruby colored stitching on the upholstery. Ford’s 12.3-inch instrument cluster is paired with an eight-inch central touchscreen, which gets Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A Bang&Olufsen sound system also features.
A range of system technology has been added to the Vivid Ruby Edition in the form of lane-keep assist, pre-collision warning and autonomous emergency, blind-spot detection and cross traffic alert.
