JAMMU: The 8th National Conference and Exhibition on Emerging Trends and Innovations in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET) organized by Govt. College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu in technical collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and in association with the university concluded today at GCET Jammu.
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of J&K Sh. Manoj Sinha graced the opening ceremony.
This conference aims to create a common forum for students, researchers, students and professionals. Industry in communication and will about trends and technological advancements, research paths and demands needs of the industry, to raise technical standards; Create a collaborative bond and above all provide much needed support to the students of various engineering colleges across J&K. It provides ideal opportunities for students/industries/start-ups. Work style / project / business plan / modern technology / achievements
The two-day program of the conference consists of technical sessions, invitations and discussions. Complete information from famous people, researchers and industry professionals. In addition, seminars and exhibitions of CPSUs/PSUs are also the highlight of the event.
Prof. RS Bharj, NIT Jalandhar gave a talk on Job Creation through Startups – How and Why, in which he urged the youth to develop entrepreneurial ideas and urged them to find alternatives to government jobs by setting up their own businesses. .
Parveen Kumar Abrol, GM-Operations, TA Engineering and innovation Ambassador and Entrepreneurship Coach gave an expert talk on engineering value creation through entrepreneurship focusing on maintaining ethical and professional values in the entrepreneurial journey.
Reputed industries/companies viz; PGCIL, NHPC, CVPPL, NTPC, PFC, JKSPDC, NIELET, BSNL, Tata Power, J&K Bank, IDFC Bank and many others participated and displayed their exhibits showing the technology developed in their respective sectors.
During the discussion meeting with students, company representatives, Rajiv Pharlia, CGM, PFC Ltd and Er. PC Tiwari, Ajmer Discom enlightened them with the latest scientific innovations and technological advancements.
Principal, GCET Dr. Sameru Sharma presented the certificates and awards for the presentation of the best paper / best model / best project and best innovative idea in the presence of various heads of departments, senior faculty, registrars and coordinators of the conference. The first prize in the working model category was bagged by UIET, Kurukshetra while in the creativity category SKUAST Kashmir bagged the first position. The best papers are also awarded in different technical conferences.
