Nov 28 (Reuters) – British car distributor Inchcap ( INCH.L ) said on Monday that finance chief Gijsbert de Zotten is stepping down after a “lapse in judgment” that the company said fell short of standards expected by its executives.
Inchcape, which appointed internal Adrian Lewis as chief financial officer of the executive group while it searches for a permanent replacement, said Zoten’s departure was not related to the firm’s financial performance or strategy.
The company said Zoeten resigned voluntarily after the incident where “he demonstrated personal behavior falling short of the high standards expected of group leadership.”
Inchcap declined to elaborate on the circumstances. Zoten did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent to networking platform LinkedIn.
The Dutch businessman, who is in his mid-fifties, joined Inchcape in 2019. Before joining, he previously worked at consumer goods giant Unilever ( ULVR.L ) for 27 years.
