In the past, we have come across many incidents where drivers clashed with employees at toll booths on the National Highway. In most cases, the driver is unwilling to pay the toll. We even had an argument with the toll gate staff that escalated to such an extent that people started fighting on the road. Here we have one such video of a Ford Endeavor owner who broke the barrier at the toll gate and when he was questioned about the behavior, the driver just threw money at the staff.

The video was shared by Shubhankar Mishra on Twitter. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli. The video appears to have been recorded by one of the employees at the toll booth. When the video starts, we see a black Ford Endeavor SUV in front of the toll booth. If we look at the video, it looks like the driver of the Ford Endeavor was driving on the wrong side of the road. At the end of the video, we see another Ford Endeavor on the other side. The position of the toll booth barrier also indicates that he was driving the SUV on the wrong side.

The staff at the toll booth is seen arguing with the driver and it looks like, this is not the first time, he has done something like this. There are reports suggesting that the driver was drunk but, so far there is no solid evidence to prove the same. The staff asked him why he broke the barrier to which the driver responded by grabbing a stack of currency notes and throwing them at the staff. The driver asked the staff to take the money and shut his mouth but, the worker did not. The worker can be seen asking the driver not to show the money. The driver then turns the Endeavor back and then when he sees that the worker is following him again, he simply pushes the SV into the barrier and destroys it.
As the video nears its end, we see another Ford Endeavor at the toll booth. We’re not sure, if the SUV belongs to the group or it’s just a coincidence. We are not sure, if any action was taken against the driver of the vehicle. In the last two years, toll collection on highways has changed. All vehicles using the national highway must have a FasTag. This was done to reduce waiting time at toll booths. The tag will be scanned at the booth and the amount will be automatically deducted from the owner’s account.
There are reports confirming a new toll collection system in the country. This will be an advanced version of FasTag. For toll tax collection, the ministry has charted a plan for relying on automatic number plate reader cameras. According to Minister Gadkari, these cameras will read the number plates of the vehicles and automatically deduct the toll amounts from the authorized and linked bank account of the vehicle driver.
