Mistletoe, Christmas rom-coms, winter walks: cuffing season is well and truly underway. But it’s safe to say that Christmas isn’t the easiest time of year – especially if you’re single. Enough of us have experienced awkward conversations at the dinner table Grandparents or distant aunties ask ‘how’s the love life going.’ It’s tiring.
But if you is Looking for love, it may be that you are in the wrong place. A new study from Match.com data has revealed the best cities in the UK to find love this festive season and the results may be surprising.
To compile the rankings, analysts selected the 25 most populous cities in the UK. Then, they calculated average ‘romance’ scores based on population size, number of dating events and number of single people between the ages of 18 and 40 on Match.com.
Surprisingly, London didn’t make the cut. education Cambridge was found to be the place where singles find the most love this festive season, with a ‘romance’ score of 8.55 out of 10. The northern cities of Liverpool and Manchester came in second and third respectively, with Manchester actually scoring the highest in terms of dating app users.
Worcester and Chelmsford round out the top five, followed by Norwich, Brighton, Southampton, Nottingham and Glasgow in the rest of the top 10. Check out the full results below.
