When Ford Motor Co.‘s (NYSE) North America Director of Product Communications Mike Levine was asked Thursday about the company’s progress on its self-driving car, he took the opportunity to get back at Tesla.
While responding that Ford’s FSD isn’t coming anytime soon, he went a step further and criticized the EV pioneer for overpricing its FSD software suite and questioned the credibility of full-autonomy claims.

Why It Matters: For the uninitiated, Musk announced a steep 25% price hike for Tesla’s FSD to $15,000 in mid-August.
Also, critics of the FSD software have questioned the company’s claim of autonomy. Only at Level 3 autonomy and higher, a vehicle achieves the status of fully self-driving without the involvement of a driver.
Price Action: Tesla shares rose 2.76% to $188.25 in premarket trading on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
