The Enerji Club ‘Urja Mela’ brought together more than 500 students from 100+ schools from 8 states.

Celebrating National Energy Conservation Day today, Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated energy companies, has reinforced its commitment to a sustainable future with Club Enerji Urja Mela 2022, a nationwide platform designed to engage young energy champions.
The Mela was held in Delhi today, with students actively participating in competitions such as green technology science modeling, film making, poster making and case studies on innovation and entrepreneurial ideas. The engagement is designed to foster young climate action leaders, who will act as agents of change in their communities that inspire greater climate action. The event was enthusiastically attended by more than 500 students from around 100 government and private schools from Tata Power’s business areas including Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Gujarat, participating in various competitions and activities.
The theme of Urja Mela for this year is “Sustainable is Attainable” in line with Tata Power’s overall conservation mission to popularize the use of green and clean energy in the nation and spread a sustainable lifestyle as “attainable” for millions of Indians by providing them with energy. Change through the widespread adoption of green products and solutions.
Urja Mela is organized as part of Enerji Club. The club has become a successful call to action in an effort to educate students in conservation. environment, combat climate change, reduce air pollution, and promote renewable energy. Club Enerji educates and raises awareness among young people about the importance of environmental and energy conservation through conservation tips, workshops, and regular meetings on relevant topics in a unique and engaging manner. The initiative highlights Tata Power’s sustainable commitment to promoting clean energy, aims to drive a green movement for a new India during ‘Amrit Kaal’ and is an important step in the company’s sustainability journey to become carbon neutral by 2045, contributing to Climate Conference of India.
Dr. Chintawan Saisavat, Director-Innovation Mission Atal of NITI Aayog was the chief participant in the event. Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power Delhi Distribution also attended the event.

Dr.Mission Director – Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog said, “With the increasing concern of the climate, the discussion on adoption of clean energy and conservation is taking center stage. Today we see the best talent that disrupts the climate because it provides a huge opportunity to innovate. It was interesting to interact with the students at the Tata Power Urja Mela. And it is good to see the focus on STEM education for the society.”
In accordance with the ambitious clean energy strategy, the company strives to spread knowledge about ways to save energy and improve efficiency and the Club Enerji project has been one of the key drivers of Tata Power’s vision of creating a sustainable future. The involvement of the younger generation to solve environmental problems is necessary to make social and behavioral changes in energy consumption and conservation of natural resources among young people.
To further promote inclusive growth in society, Tata Power also supports children with Autism through its Pay AUTENTION initiative, India’s first Physical Autism Support Network. A special street play in association with the Beartsy Foundation was performed at the Mela to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and to help young people understand, accept and support individuals with Autism and their parents and caregivers.
Club Enerji, an award-winning initiative of Tata Power was launched in 2004 and later adopted in all other operational areas of the company.
