New Delhi : Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to promote the Urja Arpan initiative.
The cooperation has strengthened the strength of the two organizations for the effective use of green energy.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, and Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI at the TERI office in New Delhi, along with other senior officials of the company.
By participating in the Urja Arpan program, customers can reduce their energy bills, choose from several options to reduce their energy consumption and contribute to ensuring energy reliability.
“Tata Power – DDL and TERI are connected to the core values of resource efficiency and energy management. Therefore, we see this partnership to expand the importance of green energy and sustainable living standards across communities. Using the theme of sustainability under the banner of ‘Urja Arpan’, we will educate consumers about the importance of clean energy solutions,” said Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL.
He added that “with the support of TERI, we will look at effective technologies and make knowledge about energy efficiency, energy efficient solutions and change behavior among customers”.
“TERI and Tata Power-DDL while belonging to the common ethos of Tata, bring different strengths to the table. TERI brings a knowledge base and experience of more than 30 years in the energy management and renewable energy sectors while Tata Power-DDL brings Tata’s trust and exemplary performance record in the power distribution domain to customers. While most people know the cost of electricity, there is very little knowledge about indirect emission costs. We need to together break the myth that clean energy is a cost and change the mindset of society at large,” said Vibha Dhawan, Director General – TERI.
With the changing dynamics and urgency for implementation of sustainability initiatives at a fast pace, Tata Power Delhi is gearing up to change the paradigm by creating a high level of awareness in the society to adopt and implement sustainable solutions by using 5 star energy efficient appliances.
