In a YouTube video shared by Techno Perry, the video presenter showed the Tata Nexon EV Max being charged through regenerative braking while being towed by another vehicle, a Ford Figo diesel. Here, the presenter closed the vehicle and tied it to the Ford Figo. Later, Figo started towing Nexon EV Max, while the latter was closed. However, the Nexon EV Max’s regenerative braking mode is still on.

When the towing of the vehicle starts, the battery level shows that the vehicle 51% of the time available. The driver of the Ford Figo started driving with the Nexon EV Max being towed behind. With the progress of the video, we can see that due to the Nexon EV Max’s brake energy recovery mode working successfully, its battery is being recharged with the Figo ahead.

The Figo is driven for about 10 km, and during that time, the battery level of the Nexon EV Max increases to 65%. It shows that for being towed for 10 km, the Nexon EV Max’s braking energy recovery mode allows it to achieve an additional distance of 14 km, which is quite surprising. In the whole process of being towed here, the Nexon EV is not driven, but its brakes are used in sync with the Figo, which allows the battery to charge itself.

Both variants of the Tata Nexon EV – Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max – come standard with regenerative braking in all their variants. The Nexon EV Prime comes with a single motor setup, which produces 127 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque, while its 30.2 kWh battery can run for 312 km. On the other hand, the more popular Nexon EV Max also has a single motor setup, which generates a maximum power of 142 PS and 250 Nm of maximum torque, while it also has a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that claims a range of 437 km. .
