A much-loved Suffolk seaside town has been named one of the most attractive places in the UK.
With its fish and chips and perfect beaches, Southwold was named one of the UK’s most attractive destinations by luxury travel magazine Travel & Leisure.
Travel writer Lydia Mansell said: “If you were to name a British beach town it would be Southwold. Located on the east coast, it’s about three hours from London, making it a popular holiday destination for city dwellers and those who own a second home.
“Like many places in the UK, it is steeped in tradition and history.
“Pastel-colored beach huts and a 100-foot-tall working lighthouse are synonymous with the town itself, and a lunch of fish and chips from Soul Bay Fish Company is basically a must-visit.”
Ms. Mansell also published the Under the Pier Show, a unique and whimsical collection of interactive machines purchased for life by artist Tim Hunkin.
