While seeing a Lynk & Co car on the road remains a rare sight in most countries, the Chinese car manufacturer recently produced its 800,000th vehicle and has a compelling range of models in its line-up. There is one type of vehicle that is missing, however, and it is a powerful off-roader that can rival vehicles like the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender.

Eager to see what such a vehicle from the brand would look like, Sugar Design took matters into its own hands and came up with an off-road-focused variant of one of the brand’s SUVs.

While the designer says the creation is based on the 03, which is Lynk & Co’s sedan, it looks more like the 01 SUV and 02 SUV. However, the changes made here are significant and start at the front end where the fascia is bathed in matte black and sports a radical new bumper with enlarged air intakes and two square spotlights.

Sugar Design has also modified the SUV with a set of flared wheel arches at the front and rear, while also fitting a set of simple wheels wrapped in mud-terrain tires. The changes continue with a raised ride height, a matte black rear bumper, roof racks that support a large storage pod, and a revised tailgate that supports a full-size spare wheel and tire. New exhausts are also visible.

While it doesn’t appear as if a vehicle like this is in Lynk & Co’s immediate future, we wouldn’t put it past the brand to launch an off-roader like this at some stage. The company has released a host of notable special edition models over the years, including the 03+ Cyan Edition and the 05+, two models adorned with various carbon fiber and aerodynamic accessories. upgrade.
