Qualcomm named Samsung the official smartphone partner of its Snapdragon Pro Series. The meeting will see competitors using only Snapdragon-powered Galaxy phones in several stages of the multi-title mobile esports event. Qualcomm will also display the Samsung branding during the league in several places.
According to the official announcement, this team will start the Mobile Challenge Finals at DreamHack Valencia later this month. All tournament games in the Finals will be played on Galaxy devices. Qualcomm doesn’t mention the devices but it’s easy. We should see the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in the hands of competitors. These are Samsung’s best offerings in the basics. Both feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and come with bright AMOLED screens with high refresh rates.
This Samsung exclusivity will continue in the Snapdragon Pro Series through Snapdragon Masters in 2024, Qualcomm announced. All competitions held at the Mobile Challenge and Mobile Masters level of the league will use Galaxy devices. Of course, with Samsung releasing new and better phones in the coming years, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Galaxy S23 Ultra in early 2023, competitors should take advantage of that. The Korean company may not launch a new flagship next year, though. The last Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will arrive in 2024.
Qualcomm has teamed up with Samsung for its Snapdragon Pro Series
The Snapdragon Pro Series is the most competitive smartphone in the world, Qualcomm said. The tournament spans multiple divisions and sees hundreds of thousands of players competing in a wide range of popular games. These include Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, PUBG Mobile Asphalt 9, Brawl Stars, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Garena Free Fire, Mobile Legends, and New State Mobile.
As the Snapdragon Pro Series continues to grow globally, Qualcomm is signing new partners for it. It has partnered with ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), a leading provider of competitive gaming and esports entertainment, to promote the tournament. The chip behemoth has chosen Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone vendor, as its mobile partner.
