From 16 percent to 48 percent—the number of stroke patients recovering with no or only minor disability—defined as achieving functional independence.

e-Stroke technology allows stroke specialists to access scans and images remotely and securely, meaning they can do their job more efficiently while helping other hospitals deliver world-leading stroke care. Brainomics e-Stroke is currently deployed across 11 stroke network sites across the country, five of which have been funded by the AI ​​in Health and Care Award. Teaching assistant and grandmother Carol Wilson was getting up for a normal day when she suffered severe seizures and rapidly lost sight and use of her limbs in June 2021. She was rushed to the hospital where, with the help of the Brainomics E-Stroke tool, her consultant was able to quickly diagnose a blood clot in her brain and recommend a thrombectomy. Thanks to quick diagnosis and access to treatment, Carol has now recovered and is back at work and able to live her life as she did before the stroke.
