St. PETERSBURG, FL — Here’s the latest restaurant and bar news in the St. Petersburg.
The Opening of the Second Location of St. Pete by Doc Ford
Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grille will open its second location in St. Petersburg in the second week of December, according to a Facebook post from the company.
A new waterfront restaurant will open in the Jungle Terrace neighborhood at 8790 Bay Pines Blvd.
The brand, launched by author Randy Wayne White, has two locations in Southwest Florida — on Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, both of which were rebuilt after Hurricane Ian — and one in St. Pete Pier.
Doc Ford’s menu is known for fresh seafood, signature cocktails and a wide selection of rum.
Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe Made it to the Best Beer Stores List
The Grand Central District’s Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe made Wine Enthusiast’s Best Beer Shops in the US list.
“This woman-owned store created an anchor in the community for beer lovers,” said Wayne Millard, founder of the Beer Label Society, writing for the magazine. “Ask anyone in the Florida beer scene and they’ll know about them and their business. Their marketing, selection and events make them stand out in a crowded field.
Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe is among four stores to make The Best Beer Shops in the South list. It offers more than 300 beers, 75 wines and eight deli offerings.
Another Florida store, 99 Bottles in Sarasota, also made the list.
Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls Opening Downtown
Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is expanding into Florida, opening a third Sunshine State location in downtown St. Petersburg, according to the company’s website.
The new eatery will move into the former home of Stacie’s Cottage Café at 501 1st Ave. N.
The chain, which also has locations in Fort Myers and Miami, offers an array of rolls, including the classic lobster roll, the Connecticut roll, the lobster salad roll, the Bar Harbor roll, the lobster BLT roll and the shrimp rolls.
Vintage Cocktail Bar Coming to the Grand Central District
A retro-themed cocktail lounge, Lost & Found, is opening in the Grand Central District, according to Creative Loafing.
The bar, a project from Hunger Thirst Group, will open at 2420 Central Ave., where Somethin’ Different was once located.
Lost & Found focuses on throwback cocktails, such as the porn star martini.
