Ubisoft Store purchases can now be credited to your Manager account
Before Stadia’s launch date was set, its biggest competitor was Amazon Luna. This service works differently, offering games through subscription rather than one-time purchases like Stadia. Now, Amazon Luna has mitigated this disadvantage by partnering with Ubisoft to allow Ubisoft sales to be played through Luna without the need for a Ubisoft+ subscription.
Players who have already purchased Ubisoft titles on Stadia will be very happy, as Ubisoft has confirmed. Stadia purchases have been transferred to PC via Ubisoft Connect will also be available on Luna for free. With the exception of Just Dance 2020, 2021, and 2022, all Ubisoft games on Stadia appear to be playable on Luna during the transition.
Ubisoft sales are playable everywhere Luna is supported. Luna already offers a selection of Ubisoft games through its Ubisoft+ channel, but players must pay $17.99 a month to access them. While you’ll need an Amazon Prime subscription to use Luna, you don’t need a Luna-specific subscription to play your Ubisoft games. Ubisoft games are supported including Rainbow 6 Siege, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Far Cry 6. A full list of eligible games can be found on the Ubisoft website.
There is, however, a small catch. Prime members who don’t have a Manager+ subscription ($9.99 a month) may “experience wait times during peak hours.” Depending on your regular gaming hours, this may not be an issue, but those happy to switch their Ubisoft purchases to Luna should keep this in mind.
To play your Ubisoft game on Amazon Luna, you need to create your accounts. Head to the Linking Account page in the Manager app, and click Account link after Ubisoft+. Pre-purchased titles from the Ubisoft PC store will soon appear in your library, including Stadia games converted to PC titles by Ubisoft.
Overall, this new update gives players an even easier way to use Amazon Luna. Of course, subscription fees aren’t for everyone, which is why we hope Amazon expands the program to other publishers. However, the latest move in the loop for owners of Ubisoft games is acceptable.
