Lola Mae Knox, 93, of Fisher IL died December 14, 2022, at Gibson Area Hospital Annex where she was a resident for 9 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 20 at Dewey Community Church, Dewey IL. Pastor Neal Hauser will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Monday, December 19 and from 9:30-10:30 AM on the day of the funeral, also at Dewey Community Church. Burial will be in East Bend Cemetery in rural Fisher. Rosenbaum Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge of arrangements.
Grandma was born March 21, 1929, on the family farm in Brown Township near Fisher, IL, the youngest daughter of Jake B and Amelia Ingold Heiser. She married Roy E Knox on May 26, 1950 at East Bend Mennonite Church near Fisher, IL.
Surviving are her loving husband and one son, David (Connie) Knox of Gibson City, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Sara (Keith) Neubert of Clearwater, FL and Jason (Tiffany) Knox of Lexington, KY. She is blessed to have six great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Meredith Neubert as well as Hanna, Abbie, Eliza, and Norah Knox. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Edith (Heiser) Zehr, his dear friend Marta Knox, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and Harold Heiser, and one sister, Mildred (Heiser) Emerson.
Grandma attended Allison school near Fisher, IL and was a member of Dewey Community Church. She loves being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a good cook as well as a seamstress. Other hobbies included knitting, crocheting, candle making, scrap booking, and working in her yard. He and his wife’s hobby is Southern Gospel Music. They traveled to many concerts as far away as North Carolina to hear their favorite bands. You can hear Southern Gospel music playing almost any day if you go to their house, and he sings along with it. This music about God’s love and heaven brought him great joy for many years.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Gibson Hospital Annex for their loving care of Grandma during her stay there – you are truly a blessing.
