The principles of Nothing and OnePlus are similar as both were created to shake up the mobile industry by the same man, Carl Pei. Although the companies share common characteristics, their approaches to planning and implementation differ. No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: Design and build

The Nothing Phone 1 borrows heavily from Apple’s new design language. It has a flat glass design on the front and back with a flat metal frame and curved edges. The metal frame is made from recycled aluminum to help keep the weight down to a light 193.5g. You’ll see the power button on the right side of the image, and two volume controls on the left side.

Flipping the phone over reveals a translucent back and a design unique to the Nothing Phone. The translucent back reveals the contents, which are covered by white layers, creating different layers under the glass back. Filled with white LEDs that make up the Glyph Interface. LEDs are highlighted on the back of the phone, surrounding things like the rear camera and the wireless charging coil. Each part of the Glyph Interface can light up independently from the others and can be used for things like notifications or a battery download symbol.

The much-loved N20 5G

OnePlus Nord N20 takes a more traditional approach with its design. It has a plastic case and back with a speaker cable underneath. Although the two phones are similar, the OnePlus Nord N20 is 20g lighter than the Nothing Phone due to its plastic construction. You can find the volume buttons on the left and the power button on the right. Unlike the Nothing Phone, you can find a headphone jack on the bottom of the Nord N20.

Both phones offer water and dust resistance. The Nothing Phone 1 has an IP53 rating and the OnePlus Nord N20 has an IP52 rating. Both phones are the same size. The dimensions of the Phone Nothing are 159.2-by-75.8-by-8.3mm while the Nord N20 is 159.9-by-73.2-by-7.5mm. Color options are limited for both. The Nothing Phone comes in black or white, while the OnePlus Nord N20 comes in smoke blue.

No one has included the 1 phone with a 6.55-inch 1080×2400 OLED display. It offers a refresh rate of up to 120Hz to easily choose the best refresh rate based on the content you are watching. The display is HDR10+ compatible and has 10-bit color support. With a maximum brightness of up to 1200 nits, you will have no problem seeing the display outdoors. The display has thin bezels and a punch hole on the left side of the display for the front camera.

The OnePlus Nord N20 has a 6.43-inch, 60Hz, 1080×2400 OLED display. The display has a maximum brightness of 450 nits. You can see the display on the outside but it pales in comparison to the high level of the Phone Nothing. The Nord N20 has thin bezels on the top and sides of the device, while the bottom is minimal. It has a hole punch for its front camera on the lower left side of the display.

No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: Cameras

No caller 1 4

The Nothing Phone 1 has two 50MP rear cameras and a 16MP front camera. The front camera comes with its Sony IMX766 sensor. In good light, the Nothing Phone can take good, solid photos. When the light starts to get dark, the images can look a little blurry. It has a night mode, but you have to turn it on and off manually. There is a good 50MP ultra-wide, but the quality of photos is not good using its Samsung JN1 sensor with low quality images compared to the front camera. The Glyph center can be used as a light source for photos and videos.

The OnePlus Nord N20 features a large 64MP shooter that can take perfect photos with its OmniVision OV64B sensor. By default, the 64MP main camera on the Nord N20 uses pixel binning to produce a 16MP image. The images produced are in perfect colors, but the width and depth can vary. The main camera struggles with color balance with insufficient lighting. In dark or dark conditions, it produces unusable images. Monochrome and macro lenses are not suitable for use. They produce dark and blurry images and are not suitable for use.

No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: Stability and battery life

No caller 1 2

The Nothing Phone 1 uses a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset with several memory configurations. You can get the device with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or 12 of RAM and 256GB of storage. No one has worked with Qualcomm to enable the Nothing Phone to support wireless charging and non-wireless recovery. It has 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and NFC on top.

No one installs stereo speakers using a combination of a down-firing speaker and another in-ear speaker. Overall the Nothing Phone’s performance is quick and easy without any problems in daily use.

OnePlus N20 5G review (4)

OnePlus has given its Nord N20 a Snapdragon 695 processor and 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the N20 offers you 128GB with the ability to expand it using a microSD card. It has 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi (ac), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a single mono speaker. The Snapdragon 695 is weaker than the 778G+ used in the Nothing Phone. It can play some games like Fortnite, even at low resolutions. There are times when more powerful applications are a bit slow.

Both phones offer 4500mAh batteries for all-day battery life. The Nothing Phone 1 typically gets five hours of screen-on time and the Nord N20 can get more than six hours of screen-on time. Both phones charge at 33W, which can charge 50% of your battery in just 30 minutes.

No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: System

No one uses a light skinned version of Android 12 called No OS. If you’re familiar with the Pixel line of devices, then you’ll feel right at home here. The only major changes from the Pixel Launcher are a few tweaks of the notification shade and some added widgets. No one said the Phone 1 would have three years of Android updates and four years of bi-monthly security patches.

The Nord 20 uses its own Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11. Although it is thinner and not as Pixel-like as the phone Nothing, the OS feels. OnePlus has left a little to be desired in the software update department. They only promise one of the latest Android OS and three years of two-month security protections. Take this schedule with a grain of salt because OnePlus doesn’t always follow through with its promised updates.

No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: Price and Availability

No phone 1 light in 1

This is where the two phones really diverge. No one has decided to abandon the US at this time and look at countries that do not rely on the carrier. None available in UK, Europe, Japan, or India. You can enter the phone No one in the United States, but it offers limited coverage at best. You can get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the Nothing Phone 1 for £399 ($475).

The OnePlus Nord N20 is easy to find and relatively cheap. Originally sold as a mobile device through T-Mobile, availability is slightly open. You can find the device unlocked through the usual outlets like Amazon and Best Buy for a price of $300 (£248).

No caller 1 vs. OnePlus Nord N20: Which should you buy?

OnePlus Nord N20 5G 9

Both phones offer quite a bit for their prices. Overall, the Nothing Phone 1 is the winner here. Although it is more expensive, it offers a very comprehensive package. You get a more powerful chipset, more RAM, better cameras, a better display, and a newer version of Android that starts being supported longer. All of this adds up to a device that doesn’t need to be upgraded quickly and can become the cheaper of the two at the end of their life. There was nothing like OnePlus in its early days, when it aimed to dominate the market with a flagship device at a mid-range price.

If you live in the United States, this may not be a contest. Although you can install the phone, not having full internet support can be a selling point for many people. If you want full network support and the ability to sell locally, then the OnePlus Nord N20 is your only choice of the two. If you’re looking for one that’s sold in the US, the OnePlus Nord N20 isn’t just one of the best budget Android phones; it’s one of the best Android phones you can buy, especially in the sub-$300 market. For the rest of the world, the Nothing Phone 1 is the winner.

The Nothing Phone 1 has a unique design, features, and amazing performance at a mid-range price. Its translucent back is filled with LEDs creating a one-of-a-kind design. You can easily get the 1 phone overseas, but no one has brought the device to the United States.

At under $300, the OnePlus Nord N20 offers incredible value. This budget device offers decent performance, a great display, and a battery that lasts for days. Just don’t expect him to take great pictures.
