Police have released images of a man wanted in connection with the murder of a woman in Sunderland last week.
Alexander Carr, 32, is wanted in the death of Michelle Henson, 47, whose body was found in a home on December 2.
Footage of the suspect, captured on CCTV the next day, shows his distinctive movements.
Police believe Carr is “actively evading arrest”.
A £10,000 reward is being offered by the charity Crimestoppers for any information leading to his arrest.
The car is from Sunderland, but has also been known to visit Newcastle and North Tyneside, and has links to parts of Northumberland and London.
Northumbria Police wrote in a tweet that the car “believes itself capable of surviving outside”, so it may seek shelter in vacant buildings or outhouses.
Chief Superintendent Neil Hutchison said officers were determined to find him as soon as possible.
Thanking the people of Sunderland for their support so far, he said: “Obviously this past week has been incredibly difficult for Mrs Hanson’s family as they come to terms with her loss and the events that have unfolded.
“We will continue to support them and ask that their privacy be respected.”
