New CNG cars launched in 2022 – Maruti, Tata, Toyota
Maruti Baleno CNG/Toyota Glanza CNG
The car maker has introduced the Maruti Baleno CNG in Delta and Zeta trims priced between Rs 8.28 and 9.21 lakh. The Toyota Glanza CNG, which comes after the Baleno CNG, is available in S and G trims priced from Rs 8.43 lakh to Rs 9.46 lakh. Both models use a 1.2L, 4-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It pushes a maximum power of 77bhp and 98.5Nm of torque. The automaker claims that the Baleno CNG and Glanza CNG offer a fuel efficiency of 30.61 kmpl.
Maruti Alto K10 CNG/Celerio CNG/S-Presso
Powering the Maruti Alto K10 CNG, Celerio CNG and S-Presso CNG is a 1.0L K10C petrol engine with factory fitted CNG kit. It produces a maximum power of 57bhp and 82Nm of torque, this makes it 1bhp less power and 4Nm less torqueier than the old CNG K15B motor. While Maruti S-Presso CNG gives an impressive mileage of 32.73 km/kg, Celerio CNG and Alto K10 CNG with 35.60 km/kg and 33.85 km/kg respectively.
Maruti Dzire CNG / Swift CNG
Both these Maruti CNG cars are powered by a 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a CNG package. The setup generates a maximum power of 77bhp and 98.5Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki says the CNG hatchback and the compact sedan, with a 5-speed manual transmission, deliver fuel efficiency of 30.90 kmpl and 31.12 kmpl respectively.
Maruti XL6 CNG
The Maruti XL6 CNG was launched in the entry-level Zeta trim in October 2022. It has been priced at Rs 12.24 lakh, which is around Rs 95,000 more expensive than its petrol counterpart. The model comes with a 1.5L K15C petrol engine that produces 88bhp and 121.5Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. XL6 CNG fuel economy 26.32 km per kg.
Tata Tiago CNG/Tigor CNG
Tata Motors launched the Tiago and Tigor CNG earlier this year, followed by the Tiago NRG CNG in November 2022. For power, the model uses a 1.2L, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine with a factory-installed CNG kit. In CNG form, it delivers a maximum power of 73bhp and 95Nm of torque. The same train works in the Tata Tiago NRG CNG. The installation provides a mileage of 26.49 km / kg.
