Kentucky Route Zero is over, and Shredder’s Revenge is coming in 2023
Netflix has just released its Year-End-Recap on YouTube, showing some great details about some of the best game releases. As you might expect, the video covers many games coming to the platform in 2022, from Spiritfarer to Cats & Soup. That’s all well and good, but it was the next part of the video that caught my attention. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is coming to Netflix games in 2023, it’s a horror movie that doesn’t have good reviews. But he wasn’t alone; Two amazing releases today. First up is Kentucky Route Zero, a favorite around these parts that we saw coming but later. The second game is Twelve Minutes, a voice acting thriller starring big names like James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe.
You can watch Netflix Games’ Year-End-Recap directly above. It’s worth watching, showing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge about halfway through. This is a popular game developed by Tribute Games, the same people behind Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, another highly anticipated. Although we do not have a date before 2023, we now know that the game is coming, which is good news for fans of 2D brawler.
Kentucky Road Zero
Upcoming titles are all well and good, but people need things to play quickly, which is why I’m glad to see that Kentucky Route Zero is finally available on Android via Netflix Games . This is a point-and-click that offers tons of style with an interesting twist. Although you want to see for yourself, if you have a Netflix account, you can play now.
So far, the performance seems good, holding a solid 30FPS on my RedMagic 7. Unfortunately, no driver support is found, or my SteelSeries Stratus + does not work with the game on Bluetooth. At least it has touchscreen capabilities. Also, this is a game that lasts for a while; Most games are 8-9 hours long.
Twelve minutes
Kentucky Route Zero isn’t the only game released today on Netflix Games; we have twelve minutes. This is a top-down action thriller featuring some famous stars for voice acting. You are stuck in a twelve minute loop, and therefore you have to find clues in this loop in order to escape. The main story takes about four hours, and this is a very popular game, so four hours is a good time to see it. Sadly, there’s no Bluetooth driver support here; when testing my SteelSeries Stratus+ I was forced to use the touchscreen. Thanks to the touchscreen controls working properly.
All in all, not a good day for Netflix games. Not only do we have two new titles to play that are worth checking out, but we also have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge coming sometime in the new year. And this is hot on the heels of some great releases in the last three months, like Reigns: Three Kingdoms and Spiritfarer. Clearly, Netflix is serious about offering an awesome list of games on Android, so we hope to see more growth in the coming year when it comes to Shredder’s Revenge in the Play Store.
