Officers found another blue Mustang wrecked on the north side of the parking lot. Handprints were visible in the fog on the car and two wrenches were lying on the ground near the passenger side, the report stated.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to message TPD on Facebook or call the department at 706-647-5455 and ask for investigator Ken Traylor. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

In an unrelated incident at Upson-Lee Alternative School on Adams Street, a truck and three buses were involved in vandalism and theft last week.

Video surveillance footage showed “what appeared to be a black male walking through the parking lot and trying to gain access to [truck]… tampering with the vehicle tag, causing damage,” the report said.

The suspect attempted to break into two storage units in the truck and enter the main cab of the vehicle, according to the report. The missing items included a drill, batteries, chargers and a tool bag with various tools, all with a total value of approximately $250.

Recent arrests and charges reported by TPD include the following:

Willie Laqua Horton – three felony counts of serious injury by vehicle and hit and run, driver’s duty to stop at or return to the scene of an accident, plus misdemeanor driving under the influence.

Heather Leeann Payne – kidnapping, aggravated battery, exploitation/intimidation of a disabled adult or elder, felony theft by conversion, serious injury by vehicle, felony fleeing or attempting to elude police , criminal damage to property in the second degree, and misdemeanor reckless driving.

Brandie Loretta Salter – possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

Andrew James Saylor – felony fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, including misdemeanors reckless driving and DUI.

Michael James Turner – home invasion, aggravated assault, robbery, felony theft by taking, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, and felony probation violation (related to a previous incident ).
