“Only consumers who submit their applications up to November 15 will receive subsidies for October. Applications submitted after November 15 will be considered for December and subsequent months,” said a senior government official.

More than 37 million consumers have opted for the subsidy as of November 15.

The last day to apply for the allowance was previously set for October 31. More than 350,000 consumers have applied for the subsidy program as of November 15.

Of the 47 million consumers who received subsidies before, nearly 30 million have used electricity. Free up to 200 units per month. The government provides 50 percent subsidy (up to Rs. 800) to about 16-17 lakh consumers, with a monthly consumption of 201-400 units.

Any consumer who has not applied for the subsidy can get it from the next billing cycle after applying.

For the current financial year, the Delhi government has allocated Rs 3,250 crore for the subsidy scheme. The total value of the project in 2021-2022 is 3,090 million dollars.
