media release: Mel Ford and the Fairlane will be chosen, picked, sung, and played in the New Year at Tyranena Brewing (Lake Mills). 7 to 10 pm.
Mel Ford and the Fairlane is a (semi-)acoustic duo featuring guitarist and singer Mel Ford, a mainstay of “the scene” since the 70s, known for touring with the Chicago legend Sunnyland Smithpacking Club de Wash and other iconic bistros Paul Black and the Flip Kingsco-leading the mighty Mel Ford and Westside Andy band, and for his own group, Mel Ford and the Fairlanes. Bassist, singer, and ex-Fairlane Tom McCarty joins Mel to wrangle through a repertoire of 20-Century Blues along with the unexpected ballad and novelty tune (or two).
Enjoy live music at the brewery! The bands are usually local (from the Madison or Milwaukee area), performing with small PA systems in a fairly intimate setting. The brewery books a variety of genres: bluegrass, alt country, blues rock, cajun, celtic and honky tonk to name a few.
There is no charge for our musical performances.
During the Winter months, performances are every Saturday evening inside the Tasting Room.**
In the Summer, performances move outside to the Beer Garden and take place every Friday and Saturday. (In the event of inclement weather, Beer Garden performances will be moved inside the Tasting Room.)**
**allowing for COVID. Some time outdoors may increase in the fall months.
