As Live Fast Motorsports enters its third year as a full-time Nascar Cup Series team, the No. 78 cars from Ford to Chevrolet.
The move to Chevrolet comes after Live Fast Motorsports was the lowest-ranked chartered entry in the 2022 season, ending the year 36th in the owner standings after finishing 32nd in 2021. Co-owned by BJ McLeod and Matt Tifft, the youngest owner in the sport, the team will now receive ECR engines.
“Our team is excited to make this transition to Chevrolet,” said McLeod. “Chevrolet Camaros have proven to be a great success on the track and Live Fast Motorsports looks forward to being a part of this growth.”
McLeod himself competed in 29 races in 2022, earning a top-10 finish at Daytona in August.
Andy Lally, Scott Heckert, Kyle Tilley and Josh Williams filled out the remainder of the schedule for Live Fast Motorsports. The team’s 2023 driver lineup has not yet been announced.
The team started in 2021 after Go Fas Racing closed its doors. Tifft, who can no longer race after suffering multiple seizures, entered the ownership realm alongside Michael Jordan and Pitbull.
They paired up with Joe Falk, who was the owner of the Cup Series charter that Go Fas also used. Live Fast previously had an alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing, but it is unknown if it will partner with another Chevrolet team in 2023.
