November 2022 is a great month for Android games. There’s something for everyone, from the smash derby racer Wreckfest to the fantasy RPG Quest for Paradise. However, thanks to a wide selection, you may have missed out on some of these great releases. To help you, we have selected 11 of the best Android games released last month in all genres.
If you enjoy any of the games on this list, our roundup of the best games right now on Android can help you find similar ones. So if you’re looking for a simple puzzle to ditch on a train trip or want something to try on a powerful gaming phone, read on.
Found Paradise
As we described in our hands with Finding Paradise, it is probably the best story-driven RPG available on Android. The twists and turns of the story will keep you hooked, and the retro graphics will delight those who grew up with a Game Boy. The mobile port was released with the music box mode, so if you play this on PC, try the mobile port to access the full audio on command. Overall, Finding Paradise is not only the best RPG released this month, but it’s probably the best Android game released this November.
island of flowers
The creative director behind Square Enix’s GO games (Hitman Go and Lara Croft GO) has released their first game under their new indie studio, Gridpop. Isle of Arrows is a mix of puzzle and tower defense with a touch of roguelike mechanics thrown in. You will get a lot of playing time from the game, thanks to the different game modes and the unique nature of each level.
Total War: MEDIEVAL II – Government
Although it is not a stand-alone game, the Kingdoms expansion for Total War: Medieval II brings a lot of content to one of the best strategy games on Android. While the original game offers a broad overview of medieval Europe, this expansion narrows down the specifics of this era: America, Britannia, the Crusades, and the Teutonic Wars. The result is a much deeper exploration of the parts, allowing players to explore them in greater depth than in the original game. The best experience on an Android budget, this expansion is a must have for every Total War fan.
The Inner Passage
Good co-op games are hard to come by on Android, but The Past Within is easily one of the best. You team up with a friend to solve puzzles in a point-and-click adventure, but there are some interesting twists. This is a short game, only two hours long, perfect for an evening out with a friend. We won’t spoil it, but you should always think about teamwork when jumping between moments of the game.
KOF 2003
We love a good retro port, and KOF 2003 is perfect for those looking for a nostalgia kick. For those who don’t know the franchise, The King of Fighters (KOF) started in the 90s and established an annual trend of releasing fighting games with similar characters and mechanics. KOF 2003 introduced a tag-team mechanic that allowed players to switch characters, but if you haven’t played every KOF game, you probably won’t notice these small changes. This is a nice retro port of a silly, early 2000s fighting game.
Wreckfest
A spiritual successor to the classic demolition derby games of the Playstation, we were surprised to see a GPU-intensive game making its way to mobile. Despite suffering a fair share of graphics issues (see our Wreckfest manual for more details), we’re happy to be able to push the entire game to a mobile device. It’s a full-on racing game, offering a variety of races and demolition derby courses across its campaign and multiplayer mods. Try it if you want to see how the amazing soft body works and you want to forgive the common photo problems.
Exhibit 111
The 111 show may not have the most amazing story, but it offers a first approach to the game that is worth trying. The game is based entirely on swipe controls to make choices, with sounds that form the rest of the game with some basic features. It has a stellar soundtrack, so if you want a game that is close to a choice story, then Evidence 111 is a must play. Make sure you have a good pair of headphones, because you don’t want to miss any conversation.
Number 117
Another great puzzle game, Station 117 is a one-player game after you’ve completed the puzzles of The Past Within. Although Station 117 is sometimes a little clichéd, it is funny, challenging, and very informative. If you have played some titles by Glitch Games before, we can wholeheartedly recommend them, because they are more similar.
Split up
One of the best zombie games on Android, Dysmantle is a great value experience. It has one of the coolest mechanics of survival games: the ability to destroy everything in the game. Open entire buildings if you wish; Nothing will stand in your way. Although it takes a little time to get going, Dysmantle is a simple time slot that is perfect for live players.
Disgaea 4: An Update
There are many ports of Disgaea 4: A new promise, but Android is the best. Along with all the content from the main game, the Android port comes with a wealth of good-life features, especially an auto-battle option. Grinding is a big feature of Disgaea games, but this auto-battle option is perfect for those who want to focus on the story. Overall, this is a good hardcore SRPG that requires a commitment to beat.
Romancing SaGa – Minstrel Song
Romancing SaGa – Minstrel Song is one of the best RPGs of the 2000s, but unfortunately it is not available in PAL regions. Thanks to the worldwide release that allowed everyone to see this amazing RPG again. Like Disgaea 4, the Android version of Romancing SaGa – Minstrel Song comes with new life features. However, there are also new characters to pick up and different ways to fight, so experienced players will also encounter something new.
November 2002 is a month full of games for everyone
If we had to pick the best Android game this November, it would be Finding Paradise. But if you’re not a fantasy, story-driven RPG, there are eight other great games to try that offer a great mix of mechanics, like Dysmantle’s survival gameplay and the evil races of Wreckfest. So take your pick, because there’s a simple Android game for everything released in November.
