14 years after the last entry in the franchise, Harrison Ford returns as everyone’s favorite archeologist in the latest Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer. What started with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark has now culminated in a fifth film that promises to bring Indy back to the silver screen, along with a new adventure that may be the last time Ford dons the iconic Fedora-style hat.

The new Indiana Jones trailer begins with the titular character involved in a chase scene with what appears to be Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena. As this scene plays out, Sallah is overheard by John Rhys-Davies saying that he misses the desert, the sea, and wakes up wondering what adventures the new day will bring him. The following is a montage of shots showing the various locations that Indy and his companions will likely explore in Dial of Destiny.
After that montage, Indiana responded that those days had come and gone, something Sallah said was probably not the case. This leads the new trailer into a flashback, where fans will see a de-aged Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen’s Voller, the Nazi antagonist of Dial of Destiny, for the first time. From there, the trailer ramps up the excitement by showing Ford racing through New York streets filled with people on horseback and him picking up the familiar hat for an adventure.

The hype for the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer continues as a quick succession of scenes from the film show Ford and others in action. After that sequence, the movie logo is shown and Jones is in a casino cracking his whip against bad guys armed with handguns. The trailer ends on that note with a scheduled release date of June 30, 2023.
While the first three films of the Indiana Jones franchise left a good impression, the fourth – Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – did not return Indy to the top. With Dial of Destiny just a few months away, fans are already excited to see what happens next. With the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the Summer of 2023 is shaping up to be a great movie.
