Hyundai Motor UK has shared pricing and performance specs for both the Premium and Ultimate trims of the upcoming IONIQ 6 Streamliner. All versions of the IONIQ 6 currently arriving in the UK have a larger 77.4 kWh battery, providing the longest range. However, as you’ll see below, the IONIQ 6 has a higher starting price than the 53 kWh version costs in the US.
The IONIQ 6 is the E-GMP-based EV we’ve been expecting since the IONIQ 5 sibling arrived last year. The Korean automaker officially called it the Electric Streamliner this past summer, along with details on the EVs trim level, battery size and powertrain configuration.
Even after exploring the ins and outs of the Hyundai IONIQ 6, we can only guess what its starting price will be, betting somewhere in the mid-40s… at least in the US. Customers in the UK and EU will be the first to receive Hyundai’s latest EV, as pre-orders for the special “first-edition” have already opened and sold out within 24 hours.
Those lucky 2,500 initial customers should receive delivery this coming spring, but there’s still plenty of IONIQ 6 to go around overseas. Today, Hyundai Motor UK has shared prices for the two highest trims of the IONIQ 6 ahead of delivery next year.
Hyundai IONIQ 6 prices start from £46,745 in the UK
Hyundai UK has shared the following pricing and performance specs in a press release today, as they pertain to both the Premium and Ultimate trims of the IONIQ 6. The Premium RWD version starts at £46,745 ($57,120) while the Ultimate RWD trim starts at £50,245. ($61,375).
Both versions include a 77.4 kWh battery pack capable of a range of up to 379 miles estimated by Hyundai (not official at this time). A big reason for the IONIQ 6’s high price in the UK is that Hyundai only offers a long-range battery to begin with.
The automaker has already promised a smaller, 53 kWh battery pack RWD version in the US, which may also make its way overseas, but not anytime soon. According to the Hyundai UK team, a larger battery will be the only option available, unless demand dictates otherwise. So Hyundai’s focus will be on the first-edition, Ultimate and Premium versions of the IONIQ 6 in the UK, and the prices reflect that.
The US So, we’re still expecting official pricing, confirmed specs (like the range) and pre-order details this spring, so stay tuned. At least, today’s news out of the UK gives us a ballpark price of what the highest trims of the IONIQ 6 could cost in the US.
