Today’s Google Doodle honors Jerry Lawson, the inventor of the video camera
Source: Google
The first Google Doodle this month celebrates the 82nd birthday of Gerald “Jerry” Lawson, the founder of the toy box. Although his efforts did not become commercial successes, the ideas he pioneered were used by companies such as Atari to great success.
Today Google Doodle can play five 2D games, and you can create your own game. In addition, you can switch between each title easily, just like the game box! Best of all, these five games can be customized to your liking, or you can start from scratch with a blank canvas. The whole thing uses 2D graphics combined with modifiers, with different shapes that can be changed in a way for a unique look.
Press the pause button on the right side of the screen to pause yourself. And thank Jerry again when you do, because he made such a masterpiece!
Game 1: Break the stone
The first game available via today’s Google Doodle is a classic brick breaker; break all the bricks to win! It’s very easy, so please click the edit button on the top left of your screen to add more bricks to increase the difficulty.
Game 2: Reach the Flag (Retro Theme)
The second game will make you reach a flag, the Mario style. Instead, you have enemies, blocks to move, and traps to avoid on your journey, adding up to some fun Sokoban puzzles. But if you are satisfied, you can press the edit button to make the enemies of the game fly without any problem.
Hop into edit mode and change the theme to play the same levels with different styles!
Game 3: Collect coins
This game is easy at first but you have to control many characters at once to continue. It’s a good plan that took me a couple of times to finish, so it’s worth thinking about adjusting your coin collection, thanks to its puzzle elements.
Game 4: Reach the flag (Cat theme)
As in the second game, the goal is to reach the flag to win. It’s more challenging compared to the previous flagship game despite the same basic mechanics. Also, if you jump into edit mode, try zooming out for a hidden message.
Game 5: Reach the flag (Jerry theme)
In this game, you will play as our hero, Jerry Lawson. These are difficult jumps along the way, so I, being a gamer at heart, added a loop to jump to the end. So if you’re looking for a challenge, Reach the flag (Jerry theme) is the easiest of the bunch.
A sneaky exit, perfect for writers in a hurry
Create your own game!
The last game on the list is not playing; a blank canvas for you to create yourself! You can change an existing game and start from scratch by clicking the add button. There are a number of options that are not used in the available games, including the above pictures and exits. When you create a game, click the share button in the upper right corner to send a link to your friends. So go ahead and give my maze a go, then hit make your own!
